Gleaning Project
Collaborative Seed Grantee Noemia Marinho hopes to host an exhibition of the work produced with six participants with Gleaning Project in June 2024. She and her church partner, Storefront Church, have seen tangible impacts on participants’ lives with job placement, educational pursuits, and access to mental health resources. There is progress also for Gleaning Project to work towards 501c3 status, while communications and administrative collaboration between the project, Storefront Church, and the general public have also grown.
Some challenges that have come up are cultivating sustainability for the future and balancing art production with the fragility of the participant group. Noemia will continue to partner with Storefront, but also expand the work with other churches like All Angels and Neighborhood Church at Greenwich Village.
